Trip to San Diego for WSOP Circuit Events...

Today, I flew to San Diego to play in The WSOP Circuit events in San Diego. The Circuit stops at Harrahs Rincon. Rincon is an Indian reservation located approximately 50 minutes north of San Diego.

My plans are to be here from February 19th - 23rd. Of course, I flew America West so that I can continue to accrue mileage points which allow me to fly first class for these long West Coast trips. For a big guy like myself, the extra room in first class is much appreciated and makes for a better trip.

I have a little company on this trip. My Mother, Brother, and an Aunt and Uncle from North Carolina are flew out as well. However, they flew out on another airline after making a later decision than mine to come out here. I think they were able to get a good rate via Orbitz or Travelocity or something like that.

Anyway, I had a 4:44pm EST flight and was in San Diego by 9pm PST. When I got to San Diego, I had to wait about another 45 minutes for the rest of the "enterauge" to arrive. They got the rental van and we headed up North.

Because Harrahs was booked for Saturday night, at the suggestion of a local that I met on the internet via RGP (VeeRob from the rec.gambling.poker newsgroup), I made reservations at The Holiday Inn in Rancho Bernardo which was just South of Escondido. We checked in and got settled.

I usually prefer to stay at the hotel where the tournament is being held. Makes things a lot easier. Althoug it was late when I checked in, I still wanted to drive up to Harrahs and register for the $200 + $25 No Limit Holdem Event on Sunday morning at Noon. So, my brother and I drove up the the mountain/hills and found Harrahs Rincon. I ran in, registered with no problem and then we shot back to Rancho Bernardo and crashed for the night to get ready for the next day.
